Why is it so hard?

Why is it so hard for the man to understand that being a full-time mom,is not easy?
Why is it so hard for the dad to give the tired mom a break?
Why is it so important to play games on the phone, after you have had a nice time,at a party, with friends and colleagues, while,I spent more than 12 hours, being a single mom..?
While I understand that you want to rest after a stressful week at work, why is it that I have to explain to you, that the longer you work, the harder I work too?
Why dont you realise-That you have the uninterrupted travel-time,coffee-breaks,etc while,my JOB goes on non-stop from the time OUR daughter wakes up to when she goes to bed,and sometimes even after that, when she wakes up with a nightmare?
Why do I have to spell out my need for a break, every few days?
And lastly, why do you think, just saying sorry and not doing anything to improve the situation, will solve everything?
Why?

  1. Chill ! I guess you are too tired . I am sure his words will make you feel better soon 🙂
I seriously do not know which is better – to be the one who does everything and being recognised for it
or being helped a lot thereby whatever is done becomes insignificant !!!

  2. You said it…we are always doing nothing at home!! I know a couple of people who said taking care of Punch is an easy task and within 2-3 hrs of taking care of her, they admit defeat!! So pat urself that you are available for ur daughter 24/7…

  3. They are men, nah? that’s why. Then again, if they were anything different, then they would have to be classified as Women and Moms. I hear u…I don’t know what to say. Even the asking this doesn’t work at times.

  4. Ooh, ouch. I know exactly what you mean. *hugs. Nope, it isn’t easy. But like sraikh and MiM said, you need to ask. And I’ll add that sometimes, ‘asking’ isn’t as simple or easy as just asking. Sometimes you need to figure out beforehand just how to make ‘him’ understand your POV. I think I might email you. Take care!

  5. my two bits – men need to be asked.
that’s what i learnt from pop psychology. they need to be asked. its what hubby says to me quite often too. ‘why do you think i can read your mind? i can’t. if you want something from me, ask’ it actually works quite well 🙂

  6. Why don’t you divide your duties with the child? Like in our house, the Munchkin’s Dad does the bath, bed and play routine so that I get a break. I spend this time generally wasting about:)- watch tv, blog, tend to my crops on farmville..hehe.

This gives me time to wind down before I go to sleep too.
And I believe men are like dogs. You have to tell them what to do and then reward them for it 😀
